Selwyn developed his broad-based business experience and remarkable deal-making skills during more than 36 years in the property investment field.
Previously Selwyn was the CEO and substantial shareholder of a JSE-listed property investment, broking and asset management company that specialised in developing suburban and township retail shopping centres. After successfully restructuring the company, Selwyn resigned to pursue other business interests. This included founding and growing an FMCG brand company of many market-leading household brands.
Since the founding of ONE in 2011 Selwyn has been instrumentally involved in the acquisition and turnaround strategies in all of ONE’s retail centres. His historic skill set coupled with long standing relationships with private investors, financial institutions and property brokers enabled him to add value to the implementation of group strategies.
During his 20 years in the property industry Chris has acquired considerable management and leadership skills, as well as specific industry know-how.
He developed a sound working knowledge of this sector during his early career as a property lawyer, focusing on structuring transactions, registering securities, and collections of rental and related matters.
Developing strategic relationships with various role-players in the property industry enabled Chris to found Affront Support Service Solutions. This independent commercial property asset management company specialised in due diligence investigations, raising project finance, formulating and implementing, turnaround strategies, as well as property entry and exit strategies.
He then established Periscopic Property Management focused on retail property management.
Since the founding of ONE in 2011 Chris has been instrumentally involved in the acquisition and turnaround strategies in all of ONE’s retail centres. His skill set coupled with long standing relationships with retailers enabled him to add value to the implementation of group strategies.

Heidi’s strengths lie in combining her understanding of the construction sector with her financial astuteness. She is highly regarded in the quantity surveying industry for her proficiency and meticulousness.
As a qualified quantity surveyor Heidi started her career at the prestigious firm of Walker Maré and then joined a property development and construction firm as senior quantity surveyor and director. Following that, she was an asset manager at Standard Bank Properties before joining Veritas Properties, a property development and management services firm.
In addition to her quantity surveying expertise, Heidi’s key skills include due diligence reports, technical building audits and preparing technical financial applications are key skills.
Werner received his Bachelor of Science in Building Arts (B Bdg A) from the University of Port Elizabeth in 1993. He went on to hold positions as Senior Contracts Manager and General Manager with many large construction companies. He founded & grew a property development & management services firm which provided services to some of South Africa’s largest property developers. This includes a rigorous on site skill-set in on-site project management and co-ordination.
He is responsible at ONE for the oversight and co-ordination of the projects and maintenance of all the properties within the Group
From there he joined Investec Private Bank and more specifically, Private Client Lending. During his time at Investec he worked as part of the Growth and Acquisition Finance team and the International team, which specialized in structured lending products to medium and large businesses.
He is also instrumental in formulating medium and long term growth strategies for ONE along with the other members of the executive team.
Whilst still employed at Investec, Joshua completed his CFA in 2008. After 7 years at Investec, Joshua left to join the 1Eighty team where he concentrates on new acquisitions and raising the necessary finance for those transactions.
He also takes responsibility for the accounts and finance team at 1Eighty.
Viaan received his LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in 2001. He was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in 2003. Viaan has personally overseen numerous varied legal & financial due diligence investigations, feasibility studies, portfolio audits & risk assessments for properties. He is responsible for the Group Asset Management, Legal and Risk functions.
John is a founding executive of Trinitas Private Equity, and has more than 20 years of private equity and investment banking experience.
After qualifying at Deloitte, John spent three years with a large South African bank where he specialised in project finance advisory for the African market. He then joined a niche South African merchant bank where he was joint head of private equity, with responsibility for strategic and operational management of two generalist private equity funds.
John serves on the Trinitas Investment Committee and sits on numerous portfolio company boards as a non-executive director.
LoSoteris is a founding executive of Trinitas Private Equity, and has more than 20 years of private equity and investment banking experience.
After qualifying at Deloitte, Soteris spent two years with the firm in Boston, USA in their financial services division. On his return to South Africa, he joined a niche merchant bank where he was appointed joint head of private equity, responsible for the strategic and operational management of two private equity funds.
Soteris serves on the Trinitas Investment Committee and sits on numerous portfolio company boards as a non-executive director.
Laetitia Steynberg has vast experience in the property industry spanning 30 years in property deal making and asset management. She was employed by Investec for 18 years, initially as a Fund Manager of two unlisted property portfolios, managing the former Fedsure portfolio till its liquidation and then the Metal Industries Pension Fund portfolio which eventually formed the core portfolio of the listed Investec Property Fund in 2011.
Laetitia served 8 years as Head of Asset Management in the executive team that exponentially grew the Investec Property Fund’s portfolio from R1,7 bil at listing to a value of R19,0 bil. Her roll was the formulation and execution of strategy to unlock each property’s value to drive the portfolio’s overall performance.
Since 2017 she dedicated her time to all the redevelopments that were in progress, focussing on exterior and interior upgrades, modernisations and refurbishments, premise extensions for select national tenants, relaunches and all the associated re-tenanting of the done up properties.
Laetitia started her career in property first as a leasing broker then as an investment broker. She has a B Com (Hons) in Economics and an MBA through UP.
Sibusiso (Sbu) Luthuli is the former Chief Executive and Principal Officer of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (EPPF), a position he held for 8 years. Under Sbu’s stewardship, the assets under management of the fund grew from just under R58bn in 2010 to more than R140bn in 2018. Prior to joining EPPF, Sbu was the Chief Executive Officer of Ithala Bank Limited.
Sbu serves on the Boards of Telkom SA Limited and Mpact Limited as a non-executive director. He is the former chairman of Cipla Medpro Pharmaceuticals SA Limited which was the third-largest pharmaceutical company in South Africa listed on the JSE.
Sbu was one of the founding members and the former Deputy Chairman of Batseta, Batseta is an industry organization for retirement funds and retirement fund fiduciaries.
Sbu is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and the founding Chief Executive Officer of Mpande Property Fund, a fund that invests in the property sector in South Africa.
Gaanewe Adams has vast experience in the financial services industry spanning over 15 years in asset management, corporate finance and properties. Gaanewe was employed by the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (“EPPF”) for 10 years, initially as an equity analyst within the investment management division covering consumer services stocks (retailers, telecommunications and health sectors). Gaanewe was part of the team that started (portfolio construction and management) the internally managed listed property fund when the EPPF divested from its stake in Pareto. She also managed the EPPF unlisted property portfolio where she gained immense experience in unlisted property management and asset management.
Gaanewe was also employed by the Public Investment Corporation as a Portfolio Manager for its listed property asset class, managing its internally managed domestic listed property portfolios (R50 billion) for its clients including the Government Employees Pension Fund and the Unemployment Insurance Fund. She also provided strategic input and had oversight of the fund’s Africa listed property interests. She has an extensive network of contacts within the listed property space. Gaanewe has a B Com (Hons) and a Diploma in Investment Management and Portfolio Management.
